Easily Redact Only the Things You Care About…FINALLY

Did you know that, depending on how your company’s Redacted.ai account was setup, you might have access to auto-redact more than 100 different entity types? That’s cool and all, but in the past in was a pain in the neck (and other body parts) to only pick the entity types you care about. It was possible, but it was a little bit like rocket science to figure out. Hint for non-rocket scientists, you had to create a collection before uploading documents, and then go into the collection settings and apply a template and manually select the entities you wanted to auto-redact. What a chore!

That all changes today. Now admins can simply go to the Organization Settings page to:

  • See a list of only the entity types that your particular organization has access to based on your subscription settings
  • Select the default entity types you want Redacted.ai to auto-redact.
    • Documents uploaded without a collection will honor these organization entity settings
    • New Collections will inherit these settings by default, but can be easily edited just for that particular collection.

Auto-Redact Scanned Documents - Improved OCR Service

Redacted.ai now enables you to auto-redact documents that were created without any digital information. We use a new Optical Character Recognition service to turn all your documents into digital ones and find the PII and private info you care about.

Auto-Save & Bigger Document View

If you have spent a lot of time using the Redacted.ai app you know 2 things very well.

  • You have to hit the save changes button in the lower lefthand corner of a sidebar way too often
  • There is a huge sidebar that pretty much does nothing except give you that Save Changes button to press. That sidebar is just big enough to affect your ability to see the document you are trying to redact.

Well those 2 annoyances are now gone with the wind. And frankly my dear, you should give a damn. Redaction changes are now save automatically, and the 2nd sidebar has been completely removed, giving you a lot more screen real estate to focus on what you care about, the document itself.

Fixes and improvements

  • Do some of your users have funky looking avatars? Yeah, we fixed the aspect ratio.
  • When inviting users to the system, made the setting to choose if they should be an admin more clear.
  • Fixed an intermittent issue when the review side panel would show thumbnails instead of the page review options.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the app to crash if you deleted a document from within the document view.
  • Fixed an issue when uploading documents to a newly created collection, did not automatically have those documents connected to that collection without you having to type in the name of the collection.
  • Fixed a UI bug that did not display the proper percentage on the default slider in the entity view until it was clicked.
  • When viewing an entity across all pages (“peak view”) - you can now click on the entity itself to choose to redact or unredact it, rather than having to click on the sidebar.
  • Redacted.ai learned more languages - Now your favorite one in the user settings. 👍
