Just Setting Up My Redacted.ai 🐦

Every release is, of course, for our customers. But today’s release is special because it is all about YOU? Who do we mean by you? We literally mean YOU! Yes, you, the intelligent individual sitting on the other side of this very screen.

Choose What Gets Redacted

• Introducing Redaction Templates ✍️ - You’ll now be able to configure which entity types get automatically redacted. You can setup this configuration at the collection level both via the front end user interface or via API.

A Quick Way To Allow Access to Everyone

• Auto-allow An Entire Domain - Along with the ability to invite individual users by specifying his or her email address, now admins have the ability to auto-allow all users signing up based on the domain of their email address. Admins can specify which domains have access in the Organization Settings, and then any user who signs up from that domain will be granted access, no invite needed.

Additional New Features In This Release

• Improved Documentation - Added Query objects to the pagination query parameters for improved documentation..

• Better Text Selection - Added the ability to select text at the character level instead of having to select entire words.

UX Enhancements

• Updated Zoom Functionality - Improved the ‘Fit to Page’ zoom option to better display the entire page.

• No More Deselecting Entities - Fixed a bug when viewing an entity in peak view. Previously the entity would get unselected when exiting peak view, forcing the user to reselect it again.

• Escape Lets You ESCAPE Have you started to draw a selection to redact on a page, then realized you needed to redo that selection? Sure you have, and you probably clicked ESC button hoping the box you were drawing disappeared right? Well, previously it didn’t and that just isn’t any fun. So we are bringing the good times allowing ESC to discard the currently element you are drawing.

• Select Type is No Longer an Entity Type - Last release we tried to simplify creating custom by making it clear you could select a Type for your newly created entity. We removed the word Custom with the word “Select Type.” This was a fine change, except…if you didn’t choose a type, we created a new type called “Select Type” 🤦‍♂️ That silliness has been removed and you will no longer see any entity type named “Select Type”

• Dark Mode Entity Colors Fixed - Previously in Dark Mode, the entity type group colors were not being displayed properly

• Select All In Collection View - You can now use the Select All keyboard shortcut to select all the text in collection view.

• Properly Aligned Notification Spinners - Would it be too nit-picky to call out changing the vertical alignment in our notification spinners? Yeah it probably would be…forget we said anything.

Coming Up Next

This release also has several under the hood improvements which pave the way for some big features that will be released soon. Namely, we’ll be adding OCR to image-based documents, and releasing a brand new ‘ReReview’ feature in the coming weeks. We’ll go into more detail when these features launch, but we were too excited about the progress made to not mention it. Stay tuned 😉
